As we gear up for the 2025 Yeppoon Running Festival, we want to take a moment to reflect on — and sincerely thank — one of the unsung heroes of last year’s event: Pilot Traffic Control (PTC).
In 2024, PTC generously donated their services to provide comprehensive traffic management for YRF, contributing not just time and expertise, but real community spirit. Their work ensured the safety of our participants, volunteers, and spectators alike, with seamless road closures, detours, and on-the-ground coordination from pre-dawn to pack-down.
We were incredibly fortunate to have PTC’s support — a local business going above and beyond to back a community-driven event like ours. Their contribution exemplifies the kind of local partnerships that elevate regional events, not just operationally, but in spirit.
While PTC is not engaged for this year’s event, we remain deeply grateful for their past support and commitment to community involvement. Their efforts made a real difference, and we know their impact is remembered by all who experienced YRF24.
We’re sharing this thank you publicly not only as a gesture of appreciation, but also in the hope it inspires other traffic management providers and community-minded organisations to consider how they can contribute to events like YRF — where every act of generosity helps build something bigger than all of us.
