Rules: No prams, scooters or handcycles/crank cycles are to be taken onto the course.

Choose the start position that is the right fit for your predicted fitness level.

For slower runners, joggers or walkers, it is important to be in the correct starting spot. Seed yourself among the starting group as the race will be a mass start.

Your time will not be affected in any way as the timing chip will only record your time from when you cross the start mats to the finish line mats. This will allow you to enjoy the event at your own pace and provide you with the best possible end result.

Course Details

The CQUniversity Half Marathon now held in July it delivers ideal running conditions with little wind and perfect temperatures. Pair that with the fast flat road surface this course is ideal for anyone chasing a personal best or someone just breaking into the long course distance.

If you have run this event before you will notice some changes. The now 2 lap course starts on the beautiful Yeppoon main beach foreshore, renowned for its stunning sunrises. From here you head out along Farnborough Road, a long straight until you reach the roundabout for a fast and smooth right turn into Iwasaki Road lined with peaceful green shrubland before you reach the 1st lap turnaround point. You then make your way back into Yeppoon where the cheer squads and spectators will be waiting for you in the racing precinct giving you that much needed boost for your next lap. While you are passing through here be sure to take in the hustle and bustle of the main street, the Kraken and the peaceful ocean views.

You will head out exactly the same way on your second loop, however, the turnaround here on Iwasaki Road comes slightly sooner so be sure not to miss it! Coming back into Yeppoon you head straight into the finisher chute where you can collect your well deserved medal and soak up that glorious finish line feeling and atmosphere.
