Race overview
The YRF Ian Weigh Toyota 2km Dash is the festival’s most accessible timed event, giving younger runners, families and community participants a chance to share the race weekend atmosphere.
The course keeps the energy high and the distance achievable, with a simple coastal route from Anzac Parade to the Yeppoon Lagoon finish precinct.
It is ideal for kids, first-time participants, families, walkers and supporters who want a lively race experience without taking on a longer distance.
Entry pricing
Entry prices increase as race weekend approaches. All prices include administration and processing fees.
Early bird

Begin on Anzac Parade with the festival energy already building around the start line.

Bib & timing
Race bib and electronic timing tag. Enter by 4 July 2027 to have your name printed on your bib.
Course nutrition
Hydration support positioned across the 2km route.
Recovery support
Post-race support and recovery facilities in the finish precinct.
Medal & Event T-Shirt
Every finisher receives a finisher medal. The first 2,000 registered participants also receive an official event T-shirt.
Race morning
The 2km Dash starts at 9:15am on Sunday 25 July 2027, with a 2 hour 30 minute course limit.

Course restrictions
Prams and wheelchairs are welcome but must start at the back of the field. Bikes, scooters, handcycles and crank cycles are not permitted.
2km placegetters
Male and female 2km placegetters receive trophies plus cash prizes: 1st $100, 2nd $50 and 3rd $25.
Category winners
The 2km has no category winner awards. The first Under 16 male and female finisher each receive a $150 JS Performance Project bonus; an overall winner also receives this bonus when eligible.
