Exciting New Courses Announced for the YRF25!

Get ready, runners โ the Yeppoon Running Festival is back in 2025, and weโve got something special in store for you. This year, weโre thrilled to introduce brand-new courses designed to showcase even more of Yeppoonโs breathtaking beauty and vibrant coastal charm. Whether youโre a seasoned marathoner, a weekend warrior, or a first-time runner, thereโs a course here that will inspire and energise you.
Hereโs whatโs new, and why you wonโt want to miss it!
The Marathon โ Coastal Beauty Over Three Loops
Our marathon course offers a true showcase of Yeppoonโs highlights. Starting on Anzac Parade, runners will take in the ocean breeze, loop past the Lagoon, cross the serene Fig Tree Creek, and head out to the iconic Wreck Point Lookout via Matthew Flinders Drive, with its stunning views of the coastline and the โSinking Shipโ rock formation. The course continues alongside Lammermoor Beach before turning back near Statue Bay. Complete two more loops before finishing at the Keppel Bay Sailing Club with a lively recovery area waiting to celebrate your achievement. See the full course description and map here.
The Half Marathon โ A Scenic Challenge
The half marathon follows the same spectacular first lap as the marathon, with a second, shorter lap turning runners back just after Matthew Flinders Drive. Itโs the perfect balance of challenge and coastal views, making it ideal for those wanting a taste of Yeppoonโs highlights without the full marathon distance. See the full course description and map here.
The 10km โ A Coastal Out-and-Back Delight
For those who love the excitement of a single loop, the 10km course is an out-and-back route with a turnaround at Lammermoor Beach. Itโs designed to give you the perfect mix of oceanfront running, the lively atmosphere around the Lagoon, and the charm of Yeppoonโs foreshore. A scenic course with unforgettable views! See the full course description and map here.
The 5km โ Short and Scenic
The 5km course is another fantastic out-and-back route, perfect for beginners and speedsters alike. Starting on Anzac Parade, youโll dash past the Lagoon and over Fig Tree Creek, turning back just after Poplar Street. This is a great way to join the festival fun in a shorter, accessible distance. See the full course description and map here.
The Brand-New 2km Dash โ A Quick Coastal Sprint
New this year, the 2km Dash is designed for anyone who wants a fast, fun challenge. Itโs an out-and-back route turning on Appleton Drive, giving you a taste of the festivalโs excitement in a condensed format. Perfect for kids, families, or even seasoned runners looking to add a cool-down sprint after a longer race. See the full course description and map here.
The Family Fun Run โ All Fun, All Together
The Family Fun Run is perfect for runners of all ages and abilities. This 2km out-and-back course starts and finishes at the Keppel Bay Sailing Club. Youโll loop around the foreshore park, past the Lagoon, and along the beach on the foreshore path, turning back near the amphitheatre. Itโs the ultimate way to bring the whole family together for a morning of fun and fitness. All proceeds go directly to our charity partner Cooberrie Wildlife Park. See the full course description and map here.
